Elin Esbjörner Winters
professor
Health Lab
Elin is a skilled researcher with extensive experience in advanced analytical methods, especially in studying the behavior of proteins and their organization in cells in neurodegenerative diseases. She has strong expertise in interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork, especially in developing laboratory methods to investigate how drugs and biomolecules are taken up by cells. She collaborates with chemists and physicists to develop and apply methods that allow understanding, at a molecular and mechanistic level, how lipid-packed RNA drugs are taken up in human cells. Elin is also one of six group leaders in the FoRmulaEx research center, whose goal is to contribute fundamental knowledge for the design and development of the next generation of effective nucleotide-based drugs.
Fredrik Höök
professor
Health Lab
Fredrik is a prominent innovator in the development of advanced bioanalytical methods, with extensive experience in surface-based analytical tools and microfluidics. His work focuses on creating new techniques to study cell membranes, viruses and membrane proteins, often with high sensitivity and innovative nanofabrication methods. He is also an entrepreneur and co-founder of successful companies such as Q-Sense, and has received several prestigious awards for his work in physics and bioanalytics.

Marcus Wilhelmsson
professor
Health Lab
marcus.wilhelmsson@chalmers.se
Professor of Physical Chemistry and Head of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Chalmers. He is a specialist in developing and using fluorescent nucleobase analogs - especially for studying and labeling RNA and proteins in cells. His research has led to pioneering methods for using these molecules in, among other things, FRET applications, live cell imaging and in studies of mRNA-based therapies.
Margaret Holme
Assistant Professor
Health Lab
Skilled researcher with extensive experience in advanced analytical methods, especially in the study of biomolecules and their organization at the microscopic level. Maggie is highly skilled in the development of measurement methods, sample environments and computer programs, and is experienced in interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork.
