This is what we do
The Center works to strengthen Sweden's total defense capability and increase the Armed Forces' technical and strategic capacity in an increasingly complex world. In close cooperation between universities, research and total defense, the center's activities contribute to:
- Applying technology research at higher levels for practical use in defense and society.
- Increase technical skills and research-based training among officers.
- Strengthening international competitiveness and funding, for example from the EU's defense budget.
- Building stronger networks between academia, industry and defense for innovation and needs-driven development.
Our support includes:
Demand-driven innovation
The center has strong links to West Swedish industry and combines long experience of practical application with a high scientific level. We channel the needs of total defense directly to researchers and industrial partners.
Training and skills development
We are strengthening the total defense's training and competence in technology to meet the skills requirements of the future.
Secure test and development environments
We offer secure test and development environments for innovation and practical application.
Research and development projects
We take on both shorter individual assignments and complex projects over several years, including security-classified solutions.
Partners for increased international financing
We participate as a partner in funding applications and contribute to strengthening the defense share of international funding.
